A dear friend of mine fears having a Mormon in the White House. This person believes that this will legitimatize this faith. And what would be the result? A host of people will embrace this creed? And, in case you don’t know, Mormons are not Christian because they do not believe in the Trinity among other things.
If that were to happen, I have to say that is our fault. If we do not instruct our children and evangelize all we know, the guilt is ours. The Mormons require their young people to give 2 years to evangelizing. What do we require? Not much. We take it for granted that people will be Christians because there are so many of us. Unfortunately, the rolls of the unchurched grow by leaps and bounds every day. Heck, maybe we should hold services in supermarkets on Sunday mornings because that’s where you’ll find the majority of people.
I remember back in the 70’s when Donny & Marie Osmond were all that. Their faith was talked and written about all the time. I do not recall a surge of converts to Mormonism but I could be wrong.
So, nay I say. Do not blame the Mormons if we cannot keep our children as faithful Christians. It is our duty to bring the gospel to the world. It is our duty to know our faith and be able to defend it. What is that quote in the Bible about lukewarm believers?

Ron Kuby – I Miss You

I don’t even remember how I first started listening to “Curtis & Kuby” on WABC Radio. I think it was after John Gambling left WOR. I very rarely agreed with Ron but I respected his intelligence and his great love for the downtrodden. He wasn’t a phony just trying to get ratings. The man lets you know what he believes and he means it. I even dreamt about him the other night.
Now it’s about two months since he was fired from WABC. I miss him and Curtis so much. Morning radio is just not the same. I drift from station to station but I am never satisfied. I wait anxiously for 10 AM and John Gambling.
I also wonder how the ratings are for Im-a-wuss (as Mark Levin used to call him. He wouldn’t dare now). I would love for him to tank. I never cared for him and, as a Rutgers alumna, I certainly will not give him the time of day now.
Ron Kuby, if you are out there, know that you are missed. I hope you get a new job at another station.

The Anti-Holiday Season
Tomorrow is the Feast of the Epiphany which for most people signals the end of the holidays. Time to take down the tree and get serious about losing weight. But we also begin another season – tax season.
Yes, we are already getting bombarded with ads from Turbo Tax (which I highly recommend, by the way). I’ve been thinking about getting my records organized. Accountants all over the country are advising their clients how to pay the fewest taxes.
It really is deplorable that we have to spend so much time and effort at figuring out ways to keep our money out of the hands of the greedy government. How did we get here? Why do we let the government have such control over lives? It certainly wasn’t the intention of the Founding Fathers for the federal government to become such a behemoth.
And just try to get congress to reform the tax code. You would think that we want them to cut off their family jewels. I dared to broach the subject at a town hall meeting with my representative, Steve Rothman (D-NJ). He was absolutely and totally against even looking at the fair tax.
If only we could get people to realize that we shouldn’t depend on the government to take care of us and that we should control our own destinies. I never realized how poor an investment that Social Security was until recently. But bring up privatization and there is a hue and cry over the land.
Fortunately, I think more and more people are waking to the evils of big government and taxes. We rose up and stopped the immigration amnesty bill. We just need to rile up the people about taxes.
