54%

54% will go down in infamy. This is the percentage of Roman Catholics who voted for Barack Obama. They voted for him despite his position on killing the unborn. This is a man who has never met an abortion he didn't like.

The bishops of the U.S. have spoken about the issue of life being pre-eminent and not being equal to such things as the war in Iraq and the war on poverty. These 54% didn't care. I know four people personally, including a Catholic priest, who voted for him.

Soon-to-be president Obama has promised to make signing the Freedom of Choice Act as his #1 priority. This piece of legislation would take away any and all restrictions to abortion including not having to inform parents of their child having an abortion. There are other items. You can look up the act on the internet for the particulars.

If this act is passed, how many more babies will die? I agree with the priest who told his congregation that, if they voted for Obama, they should go to confession before receiving communion. If you are one of the 54%, the blood of those babies is on your hands.

We can only pray that this act will be put on the back burner due to the many other issues which should take priority.

These are very scary times we are about to enter. I try not to think about them, but not thinking about them doesn't make them go away. What can we do? I want the new president to succeed, but sometimes it's a little overwhelming to think about where we might be going. It's like we've just taken a nasty fall, and we don't even know if someone is going to pick us up.

"What an irony that a society confronted with plastic bags filled with the remains of aborted babies should be more concerned about the problem of recycling the plastic" ~ Winifred Egan

Oh, what a great quote! Who is Winifred Egan?

Since 54% of Catholics apparently think "change" is more important than a Pro-Life Supreme Court, I guess we got what we deserve.

Heaven help us.
