Bias

I am so tired of being called a bigoted, racist homophobe. If I disagree with President Obama, I am a racist. Against illegal immigration? Archbishop Dolan of NY will let you have it. (http://blog.archny.org/ post of April 27, 2010) Yes if you are white, you automatically must be against anyone who is different than you.

This, of course, is laughable. I don't think people of limited color are any more bigoted, prejudiced and biased than any other group. As a matter of fact, some of the most bigoted comments I have ever heard have come out of the mouths of black people and I'm not talking about Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton.

And here's another thing that doesn't make the nightly news. There are many ethnic groups who dislike or actually hate other groups. I recently found out that some Spanish speaking groups think Portuguese is a horrible language and don't really care for the speakers of said language.

And what about our Asian groups? I don't think there is any love lost between the Chinese and the Japanese. And I bet you'd find lots of bigotry among various groups from India.

Of course, I belong to the one group which Americans may mock with abandon. While I may not have French blood in my veins, I consider myself culturally French. But I am the racist, bigoted homophobe.
