Against Women Priests

Okay, ladies, how many times have you been sitting watching TV with the hubby and you get up to get/do something and you hear these words, "Honey, would you get me a beer?". My late ex actually admitted that he used to try to telepathetically try to get me to get up when he was ready for another.

So, as we all know, men like to be waited on and do the least possible. Oh yes, when they do decide to do something they can be wonderful at it but mostly they just like to watch sports and drink beer.

Which brings me to the reason why we cannot have women priests. Because the men would then just be getting out of another responsibility. Oh sure, there are women out there who think that there are all sorts of sound, theological reasons for women to be ordained but I'm telling you, it's a bad idea.

Let's use the Novus Ordo version of the Latin Rite Catholic Mass. When you compare it to the older form commonly known as the Tridentine Mass, it's patently clear that the man in the form of the priest has much less to do. He even has fewer vestments to wear. The documents of Vatican II tell us they came up with this new version of the Mass to make it more meaningful for the laity. Ha! The priests probably just got tired of all the prayers and ritual which cut down on their time for--you got it-- watching sports and drinking beer.

See, God knew what He was doing when He only selected men as apostles.

Amen.

This is a great read. I don't comment often, but I follow your blog, and this is probably your best work! This is as good as anything you will see from some of the better known columnists in the local media. You should consider sending it around to some of the NY/NJ newspapers. A lot of people would enjoy reading it as an editorial. Who knows? It might catch the right person's attention and they might beg you to send them more.

Gee, I wish I knew who wrote this because then I would know if you were being sarcastic or not. But thanks, I think.
