Thoughts on Tucson

I am currently reading the book "The Whole Truth" by David Baldacci. The premise of this book is that this man who owns an armament company needs to get countries to buy more weapons. To achieve this, he uses phony news stories and events to rile the world up. He gets the Chinese and the Russians at each other's throats. The media believe everything his spin doctor puts out there which is 99% fabrication.

In the book a group of people working at a think tank are brutally murdered. The shooting in Tucson reminds of this book. This horrific event has the entire world in an uproar. Liberals and conservatives are at each other's throats.

I'm not really a conspiracy theorist but it just makes me wonder if someone egged this guy on just to achieve the desired effect of stirring things up. I just don't know what the purpose would be. But the thought of it creeps me out.
